9th St. NW & Penn Ave (Or, Other Places More Secure Than In Front Of My Suburban Home)
Feb 16th, 2008 by Brian
Maybe I should start a list of the places where one can leave their car and not worry about having someone smash the driver’s window and steal stuff.
The latest non-incident occurred last night when, in a hurry (and a little psyched about the decent parking spot I’d just discovered), I left the new GPS stuck to the windshield and went to the movies and then to dinner, for several hours. Of course, I like to think it helped that we were parked across from the Hoover building, but you just never know.
So, in case you’re wondering, and based soley on my own limited observations:
- you can leave valuables in your car when parked next to FBI headquarters,
- you can leave your window rolled down when parked in the Adams Morgan garage on 18th St.,
- you cannot leave valuables in your locked car while parked in from of your home in suburbia.

Look who’s becoming quite the city boy
More than you know Phi. I can almost turn off the GPS when driving around town now! Of course, Huckabee lost in VA and the REI rumor is proving false, so I’m still waiting on the big incentive to move for real.
